It's Gotta Be the Shoes

I missed this story a few days ago....

Reggie Bush, the former USC running back, who was the second pick in the NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints was fined by the NFL....for wearing the wrong shoes!!

The fine was reportedly $10,000!!

The NFL only allows players to wear Nike or Reebok shoes, because of a marketing partnership.

Reggie signed a VERY LUCRATIVE endorsement deal with Adidas after being drafted. Shoes, apparel, etc.

So in Sunday's win against the Tennessee Titans, Reggie wears gold and black Adidas football cleats....runs for 59 yards on 6 carries and catches two passes for 10 yards.

He was, according to the NFL, warned about wearing the shoes.

Reggie said when he was asked about the fine that "Adidas took care of it."

Seriously though....what's the problem here? I really don't understand.

In England teams have deals for the uniforms and players have deals for the shoes that they wear. So a player who plays for a team that is "sponsored" by Nike can still wear the Puma
shoes that he endorses!

Why do we always have to do things differently than the rest of the world....wake up NFL!
