Wanna get married in Vegas?

If so....make sure you do it between the hours of 8 am and midnight!!

No more 24/7 weddings in Vegas.

Although it does sound pretty sad, I mean getting married in Vegas is as much a part of Vegas as slot machines are!

City officials say that less than 4% of all license requests come in after midnight.

Craigslist

If you don't know this already, I'm an aspiring professional photographer....I've assisted a wedding photographer for about a year and a half. Then she decided to become a real estate agent, and I was out of an assisting gig.

Anyway, I check Craigslist daily for photography opportunities. If you don't know what Craigslist is, it's "basically" the Classifieds/PennySaver/AutoTrader all rolled into one and on the internet....check it out!

So I'm mostly looking to assist an already established pro shooter. I'm searching for people who are looking for an assistant and I'm also searching for people who are looking for good quality pictures, but aren't looking to pay a lot of money for them.

I've replied to SEVERAL ads on Craigslist, and have NEVER received a reply back!!!

What's up with these people??

I mean you post an ad and someone takes the time to reply and is interested in helping you out and you turn around and don't even reply?? WTF?

I would even be happy with some cheesy canned response. Any response.... anything at all. A simple "No Way Jose" would be better than nothing at all.

Instead, I'm left hanging....wondering what happened.

I completely understand that if you put an ad on Craigslist you could be bombarded with several hundred email responses....but shouldn't you know that going in? Be prepared people! At the VERY LEAST have a canned response ready that you can just copy and paste into the emails that you reject. That way the people that do take the time to reply to you aren't left wondering what the heck is going on!

It's just common courtesy.

German Research

Secure relationships = less sex in women

This article details how researchers from Germany found that four years into a relationship, less than half of 30-year-old women wanted regular sex.

What? NO WAY!!

It took actual research to figure this out?

Some other brilliant statistics from the article include, "They found 60% of 30-year-old women wanted sex "often" at the beginning of a relationship, but within four years of the relationship this figure fell to under 50%, and after 20 years it dropped to about 20%."

"In contrast, they found the proportion of men wanting regular remained at 60-80%, regardless of how long they had been in a relationship."

Again, it took RESEARCH to figure this out??

In a recent interview with People magazine Britney Spears said that her current pregnancy was unplanned!

Nothing like telling the world that your unborn child was an accident!!

I don't think there's anything that says proud parent more than that!

YEEAAAAHHH!!!
Way to go Britney!

Are You Watching?

Have you been watching RockStar: SuperNova?

No?

Me either....I just can't get in to it this season.

Last season I think was more emotional....with INXS out of action since the death of Michael Hutchence, their lead singer....it seemed like they had done some serious soul searching and were ready to get back to playing and performing music.

For me, it introduced me to some great INXS tracks that either I had never heard or I didn't know "THAT song is by INXS?"

This season SuperNova is looking for a lead singer. I just can't get into SuperNova....3 "legends" as the web site puts it. Tommy Lee from Motley Crue....Gilby Clarke ex-Guns N Roses....and Jason Newsted ex-Metallica.

Do you see the trend? 2 of the 3 members are ex-members of a band. Kicked out of their last bands....Tommy Lee has a solo album (his 3rd) coming out soon and still plays with Motley Crue.

I have watched parts of it, but I just can't get sucked in....maybe I'll tune in for the final 4 contestants.

It's Gotta Be the Shoes

I missed this story a few days ago....

Reggie Bush, the former USC running back, who was the second pick in the NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints was fined by the NFL....for wearing the wrong shoes!!

The fine was reportedly $10,000!!

The NFL only allows players to wear Nike or Reebok shoes, because of a marketing partnership.

Reggie signed a VERY LUCRATIVE endorsement deal with Adidas after being drafted. Shoes, apparel, etc.

So in Sunday's win against the Tennessee Titans, Reggie wears gold and black Adidas football cleats....runs for 59 yards on 6 carries and catches two passes for 10 yards.

He was, according to the NFL, warned about wearing the shoes.

Reggie said when he was asked about the fine that "Adidas took care of it."

Seriously though....what's the problem here? I really don't understand.

In England teams have deals for the uniforms and players have deals for the shoes that they wear. So a player who plays for a team that is "sponsored" by Nike can still wear the Puma
shoes that he endorses!

Why do we always have to do things differently than the rest of the world....wake up NFL!

Is Beckham Done?

David Beckham was left out of England's squad that will face Greece in an international friendly next Wednesday.

At first I was like....
Really?

I really like David Beckham. I think he's probably the best in the world in a free kick situation and I also think he's a very good long ball passer. Especially across the pitch.

I mean, come on....I know that new manager Steve McClaren is not Sven II. McClaren has stated that he's going to do it "his way."

Beckham is with Real Madrid touring the states and may have just asked to be left off the squad....no one is reporting that....all the reports just say he was left off the squad and this could mean his international career is done.

Who knows? I haven't heard anything directly from either of the horses mouths. So your guess is as good as mine.

Beckham has 94 caps for his country with over half of those as the captain. I really hope that Beckham can reach his goal of 100 caps.

Good Luck Becks....I hope it all works out.

Chelsea's Captain, now England's Captain!

John Terry (as expected) has taken over as England Captain from David Beckham.

Already the captain of his club team, Chelsea, Terry was on a very short list of Beckham's replacements. It was basically Terry and Liverpool's Steven Gerrard.

I think that either would have been a good choice. Personally I would have chosen Gerrard, but that's just me.

Have you been watching the X-Games?

What? Why not?

Let me show you what you missed yesterday....

Travis Pastrana lands a DOUBLE BACKFLIP
!! On a freakin motorcycle!!! An X-Games first....there aren't enough words to describe how awesome this was.

He (obviously) won the gold medal in the Moto X Best Trick competition, but for whatever reason, he didn't get a perfect score for that jump!! (WTF??)

Match Maker, Match Maker Make Me A Match

The wife and I are redecorating our bedroom....I guess I really can't say that we are redecorating it, since it wasn't really decorated in the first place.

We finally decided on what we were gonna do and how to decorate.

So first things first, we buy bedding. We know we're gonna buy a king so we buy king sized bedding.

Next is paint.

Since we bought a few decorative pillows we gonna pull a color from the pillow and paint the walls that color.

Here's the pillow....

Nice right?

I left home a few minutes early so I could stop by our local Dunn Edwards paint store to get some of those little paint chips to match the pillow.

I get there and go to the back of my Honda Element to get the pillow, I look at the dress shirt I have on and then look at the pillow....and immediately think...."This is GREAT!"

Check this out....

Great choice right?

How stupid did I feel? Let me tell ya....pretty darn stupid!!

Actually I thought it was pretty funny!
