Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, I have many things to be thankful for.

I am most thankful for my wife....I mean she did say, "yes" and that got the whole thing going. Not only is she my wife and best friend, but a terrific mother to our two beautiful daughters.

Of course I would have never even gotten to that point if it weren't for my parents. (Don't worry, I won't go into the birds and the bees part). My parents divorced very early on in my life....but that's ok, because it brings in the next two people that I'm thankful for.

My grandparents. I give most of the credit to them for molding me into the person that I am today. Thank you for that....plus now that I can share "the beautiful game" with my grandpa.

I am also thankful for family. My Aunt Flo and Uncle Mike have been such a great help to us here in Houston. They've really helped to make our transition here a smooth one.

And I can't forget friends. Especially our new friends from Studio 563. Craig, April, Chip & Jeanette. They are now a part of our family and I'm so proud and honored to be a part of the 563 family and also to call them friends.

Lastly I want to say thanks to my friend Kyle in NYC. Even though we're far away and "talk" via email....I value your friendship and I want to say thanks for keeping in touch.

I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving.

The DRIVE!

1533 miles....It took us 3 days....With stops in Tucson, Arizona & Fort Stockton, Texas.

Here's some of what we saw....

Really cool rock formations along the freeway.

Breakfast @ Denny's

Both of our cars were packed and then we were also towing this little spaceship!!

Here's the "House of Butter"....not really....I just call it that.

Sun Visor essentials....the badge is fake! (A gift from a friend)

FINALLY....we cross into Texas!!

Here's my beautiful bride enjoying some coffee in Fort Stockton.

Who knew that Lee Tevino had his own Drive? (Really....who knew??)

My racing partner....I couldn't have done it without you sweetie!!

I LOVE U

Happy Valentine's Day Sweetie!

Chasing Cars
by Snow Patrol

We'll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don't need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Long Distance Coin Toss

I've waited a few days to post this story....but here goes.

My little family and I go out to the mall on Monday evening, just walking around. Not really looking for anything, just window shopping.

In the center of the mall, there's a fountain....it's not huge or anything, maybe 6' in diameter.

My oldest daughter who loves to throw coins into the fountain, asks if she can throw a penny in the fountain....I dig in my pocket and pull out my change. No pennies, but I do have a nickel.

I look at the wife and say, "I bet you can't make it from here". At this point we're about 20 feet away from this fountain. It's Monday night, there's hardly anyone in the mall. She looks at me kinda funny and says "From here? No problem!"

What?

Sooooo, I throw in some difficulty. There's some trees right where we are standing....they're not Oak trees or anything, just cute skinny little "mall trees".

So I say, "But, you have to throw it from right here behind this tree....in this square."

AH-HA!! I can see a nervous look on her face!

"What do I get if I make it?", she says.

"Anything you want under $50!", I said.

She steps into the square, leans over to look around the tree, first to the right, then the left....leans back and tosses it.

SPLOOSH!!

Right in....no problem. So now have to make it.

I step up to the square....shoot....

CHINK-A-DINK

I missed that fountain by a good, 5 feet!!! I guess I forgot the wife has REALLY good aim!

Now, that I'm writing this....I don't think my daughter ever did get to throw a coin into the fountain.

Sorry Loo
